How to Bio Bubbles

HOW TO …

STEP BY STEP

1. Select two different Colour Gels of your choice (try using colours #180 Heart & Soul and #183 Free Lovin’).

2. Apply a Bio Sculpture Base Gel layer. Cure.

3. Apply two layers of the lighter Colour Gel (i.e. #180 Heart & Soul). Cure.

4. Follow with a third, thin layer, using the darker Colour Gel (i.e. #183 Free Lovin’). Do NOT cure.

5. Place small dots of Soft Gel onto the wet Colour Gel layer, using the tip of the Upper Arch Brush. Cure.

*Wait for the Gel on the tip of your brush to form a droplet, then place it.

*Work from an image of reptile skin as guidance to where smaller or larger droplets should go.

6. Apply the appropriate Strengthening Gel to seal the nail art.

7. Cure. Dual Cleanse and Refine.

8. Apply Gloss Gel for shine. Cure.

NOTE:

To create dual coloured bubbles, dot down tiny Colour Gel droplets into the centre of each / some of the Soft Gel dots before curing. Bubble sizes can differ, depending on the amount of Gel dotted down. Experiment with different patterns to achieve interesting shapes like different animal skin textures, flowers, etc.

What Colour Suits Your Complexion?

Compliment your complextion

2015 has arrived and this year we celebrate the kaleidoscope of skin colour all around the globe. Bio Sculpture® wants to encourage you to take care of your unique skin type. Love your natural tone, flaunt those freckles or beauty spots and embrace your peerless colour complexion by complimenting it with NAIL COLOUR.

Colour Skin Tone 1

There are no rules when it comes to colour although certain colours compliment certain complexions better than others.

Determining what side of the colour wheel will embellish your complexion:

Some complexions suit just about any colour. For the rest of us, some people’s skin has a gold/yellow undertone, while others have a blue/pink undertone. Analyse your wrist. If the veins appear blueish, you have a ‘cool/ocean’ complexion. If they appear greenish, you have a ‘warm/earth’ complexion. This specific undertone will help determine the colours you wear best. Another way to analyse, is to drape a red-orange scarf around your neck. Analyse your face. Then drape a red-violet scarf and compare the two. Some people suit both, but most will definitely fall either in the ‘cool/ocean’- or ‘warm/earth’ complexion category. The same test can be done by using a yellow-green and blue-green scarf.

Understanding Colour - Spectrum

Skin tone tips:

Fair/Pale skin tones

Stick to darker colours that contrast the skin – whites and pale colours might appear washed out.

Olive/Medium skin tones

Go either light, or dark. Be careful of brown, yellow or green undertones. It could make the skin appear yellow.

Darker skin tones

Pretty much any colour goes! Be careful of going too bright, too white or too dark/black.

Skin Tone 2

As all skin tones differ, use these tips as guidelines but never stop experimenting with COLOUR!

Longer Lasting Nails

Bio Sculpture recently tested the durability of Bio Sculpture Gel and a popular hybrid gel polish to highlight the benefits of choosing Bio Sculpture Gel. Here are the results:

"Bio Sculpture Gel Vs Gel Polish

Bio Sculpture after 2 weeks

Bio Sculpture Gel still looked immaculate after 3 weeks while the hybrid gel polish had chipped and peeled, needing to be removed after just 2 weeks. Bio Sculpture Gel is a pure gel product that lasts longer than hybrid gels, and offers a damage-free, long lasting nail gel experience.

HOW TO: BIO SCULPTURE NAIL ART

Statement-making nail art designs are today’s must-have fashion accessory and this look created by Bio Sculpture nail artist, Simone Gilbert of Urban Bliss Beauty, is a simple yet effective way to dress up your digits.

This stunning design is inspired by the patterns you find on turquoise gemstone jewellery and can be used on just one feature finger or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, all your nails!

Products used:

• Bio Sculpture Executive Base
#120 Turquoise Teacup Bio Sculpture nail polish
#169 The Rebel Bio Sculpture nail polish
#2017 Licorice Bio Sculpture nail polish
• Glad wrap
• Mug filled with cold water
• Hairspray
• Bio Sculpture High Gloss Top Coat
• Bio Sculpture Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover
• Bio Sculpture Quick Dry Spray

Step 1

Apply a base coat of Executive Base and two coats of 120 Turquoise Teacup and allow to dry.

Step 2

Scrunch a piece of glad wrap up and apply a little #169 The Rebel nail polish to a section and blot on some paper to remove the excess. Very lightly dab the plastic wrap on your nail to create a marbling effect.

Step 3

Take your mug filled with water and place two drops of #2017 Licorice nail polish into the water. The nail polish will spread out and when it does, quickly spray the water with hairspray and watch as it forms an amazing pattern. Dip your finger into the mug to apply the black polish to your nails.

Clean up any polish on the skin using Bio Sculpture Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover.

Step 4

Apply High Gloss Top Coat to finish and a spray of Quick Dry, a fast drying polish spray.

VOTE NOW FOR BIO SCULPTURE NAIL ART SENSATION!

Bio Sculpture is proud to announce that one of our extremely talented A-Grade nail artists, Simone Gilbert from Urban Bliss Beauty in Victoria, has taken out stiff competition from across the globe to be named a finalist in the NAILS MAGAZINE Next Top Nail Artist competition.

Launched to find the best up-and-coming nail artists, the NAILS magazine competition puts contestants through several challenge rounds, eliminating contestants each week and we’re thrilled Simone is down to the top 12!

A large part of the next elimination process will be based on voting, so we want you to get behind our local Bio Sculpture sensation and vote for her to win each week here!

Here’s a snapshot from Simone of her amazing journey so far!

“In January this year, I decided to apply for the NAILS Next Top Nail Artist competition after creating these Godzilla inspired nails out of 100% Bio Sculpture Gel.”

“I was then required to set up a YouTube channel and create a 3-4 minute video explaining to the selection panel why I should be chosen to compete. Along with the video, I had to prepare two essays and submit just 10 photos of my work to showcase my nail art.

Five months later I received the incredible news I had been selected for the top 24 who competed in the following two pre-challenge elimination rounds to fight for our places in the top 12.”

Elimination pre-challenge #1- Theme Music

Create a 3D design on a single nail tip using a variety of nail products based on music

You can check out how Simone created this magnificent artwork on YouTube.

Elimination pre-challenge #2 – Visual Art

Choose a visual artist you admire and create your own masterpiece using their signature style

“My Uluru mural was inspired by my favourite visual artist, Australian photographer, Ken Duncan. Photography, as an art form, is hard to capture on a nail without the use of decals, so I chose to paint my landscape design emulating the small, short brush strokes commonly found on a Monet masterpiece. A step by step tutorial is featured on the NAILS Magazine nail art gallery.”

“After making it through to the top 12, we were asked to create something to celebrate being selected.  For this design, I used watercolour paints and Bio Sculpture Gel,” explains Simone.

“I’d like to thank everyone in the nail community so much for their support with this enormous opportunity I have been given. I hope I can live up to everyone’s expectations and do the Bio Sculpture Gel brand proud!”

You have already made us very proud Simone!!

Keep up to date with Simone’s progress on her Facebook page and Instagram.
